Every woman who likes to look beautiful and well-groomed takes care to keep her nails well-groomed too. Prosthetic nails have become more popular in the beauty industry, especially in recent years. Women who cannot spare time for nail care can have permanent, strong, and well-groomed nails in the busyness of daily life. Prosthetic nails are attached after applying special protectors on your own nails.
There are 3 different types of prosthetic nails: acrylic, dipping, and gel. They are much easier to apply than fake nails. At the same time, there are different types of prosthesis applications, and with a manicure they can look natural as your own nail. They are durable and do not break easily.

1. Acrylic Nails
What are Acrylic Nails?
Two substances, a powder and liquid containing monomer molecules, are combined to create a soft substance containing polymers that can take the shape of nails. When specialists apply the soft substance to your nail, the substance hardens on the nail and takes on the appearance of the nail.
Who Are Acrylic Nails For?
They are ideal for ladies with brittle nails who cannot cope with this problem, especially people with the habit of nail biting and for business women who cannot spare time to grow their nails.
Can Nail Polish Be Applied to Acrylic Nails?
Yes. The French part under the acrylic material is always permanent. Any nail polish you apply on your acrylic nail will not cause the French on your nail to deteriorate.
How Do You Remove Acrylic Nails?
Place a cotton ball dipped in acetone on your nails, wrap your nails with aluminum foil and wait 30 minutes. Then slowly pull the aluminum foil and the acrylic nail will come off along with the aluminum foil. If you feel pulling, it is recommended to wait another 10 minutes.
2. Gel Nails
What Are Gel Nails (Poly Gel)?
Gel nails are a prosthetic nail application. When our nails are in contact with water, it causes the nail hardness to disappear. As nail polish is applied and removed frequently, yellowing occurs on the nails and the growth of the nails slows down. Gel nails makes it possible to turn unmaintained nails into hard. If gel nails are compared with acrylic nails, gel nails are more preferred.
How Are Gel Nails Formed?
Before starting the process, the gel is applied to the nail and extended from the tip. Since the gel applied to the nail is not a quick-drying substance on its own, it is dried with special UV methods. After the gel is dried with special UV rays, the tips of the nails are given a long nail shape and the gel is applied to the entire nail. This process ensures that the nail looks equal to the other parts.
Nails are filled and brought to the same level, and after the cuticles are cared for by filing in a controlled manner, then the gel nails are complete. Gel nail dip is more durable than other prosthetic nail applications. Its durability is proven by the fact that it does not dry on its own. It is the most common prosthetic nail application compared to other prosthetic nails.
How Do I Remove Gel Nails? What Should Be Considered?
It is very difficult to remove them by yourself at home. For this reason, it is recommended to remove the gel nails where you had them done. Because the entire nail needs to be filed, if care is not taken, it may cause some damage to the nails.
3. Nail Dipping
What is Nail Dipping?
This method is similar to acrylic nail applications. However, its difference from acrylic is that it is odorless and matte. As a result of dipping applications, the nail appearance becomes matte. If you like using matte nail polish, this process is for you.
Who Should Not Get Prosthetic Nails?
Prosthetic nails are not applied to people who have infectious diseases such as fungus on their nails or hands.
Do Prosthetic Nails Damage My Own Nails?
Prosthetic nail applications do not cause any damage to your own nails and they do not wear out or thin your nails. Not all of your own nails are covered during the application. Prosthetic nails are adhered to only the ends of your nails with special adhesives.
